Anyma Strikes Global Publishing Deal With Kobalt as Electronic Music's Creative Currency Surges

Posted on March 25, 2025April 24, 2025

Just weeks after completing a historic sold-out residency at the Vegas Sphere, Anyma has signed an exclusive global publishing deal with Kobalt, a strategic move that seeks to elevate his flourishing Afterlife empire.

The timing of the announcement mirrors a growing shift in how electronic dance music is valued, not just by fans and festivals, but by the industry’s most powerful financial participants.

Recent months have seen the genre’s most iconic figures turn heads with blockbuster catalog sales. Just three weeks ago, deadmau5 struck a $55 million deal with Create Music Group, transferring ownership of his solo catalog and the extensive archives of his record label, mau5trap.

That move followed similar nine-figure deals by Calvin Harris, David Guetta and the family of the late Avicii. Such transactions, long common in rock and pop, signal a new level of appeal for electronic music as its vast intellectual property pool becomes increasingly sought-after in publishing, licensing and sync opportunities.

In that context, Anyma’s partnership with Kobalt represents a strategic consolidation of creative rights that lays the groundwork for long-term scalability.

“Anyma’s artistry transcends traditional electronic music,” said Rani Hancock, Kobalt’s EVP and Head of U.S. Creative. “He crafts sonic and visual journeys that resonate deeply with his audience.”

Those journeys are rapidly becoming a template for the future of dance music storytelling and performance. With over 200,000 attendees across 12 nights at the Vegas Sphere, Anyma’s groundbreaking residency marked a pivotal moment for the genre’s growing centrality in the cultural conversation.

As Anyma readies the release of his forthcoming album, The End of Genesys, his new partnership with Kobalt ensures his expanding universe of music and media will be supported by one of the most agile and data-empowered publishers in the industry. The producer’s next album is due out May 23rd, 2025.
