Listen to Armin van Buuren and Rob Swire's Long-Awaited Collaboration, “Sound of You”

Posted on March 28, 2025April 24, 2025

“Sound of You,” the long-awaited collaboration between electronic music luminaries Armin van Buuren and Rob Swire, is out now via Armada.

The explosive new track unites two icons from opposite ends of the dance music spectrum for a powerful, festival-ready anthem. It first turned heads during van Buuren’s Mainstage set at Ultra Music Festival Miami 2024, where he surprised fans by premiering the then-unreleased ID. Now, fans everywhere can experience the full force of the track.

Swire, the influential frontman of Pendulum and one-half of Knife Party, makes a long-awaited return to the vocal booth on “Sound of You,” his first vocal feature in several years. His unmistakable voice cuts through van Buuren’s lush, emotive production, delivering a soaring topline that feels tailor-made for sunset festival sets and peak-time dancefloors alike.

Built around a cinematic melody and emotionally charged drop, “Sound of You” channels the golden era of progressive house while infusing it with modern production polish. Whether you caught it live at Ultra or are listening for the first time, the track is a stunning example of what happens when legends collide.

“Seeing this sound make a comeback is really exciting because it blends the best of both worlds—massive festival anthems with deep, emotional melodies,” van Buuren said. “From the moment I wrote this, I knew Swire was the perfect voice for it, and I’m so glad he said yes.”

Swire added: “van Buuren and I had talked about working together for a while. When he played me the ‘Sound of You’ instrumental, I knew instantly I wanted to sing on it. We recorded it in early 2024 and it was amazing to see van Buuren unveil it at Ultra Miami.”
