Tomorrowland Launches Architecture Studio to Bring Fantasy Aesthetic to Real-World Spaces

Posted on March 14, 2025April 24, 2025

Tomorrowland has launched an architectural design studio to expand its influence beyond its Belgian festival grounds and into everyday spaces.

Known for his “couture architecture,” renowned architect Dieter Vander Velpen has teamed up with Tomorrowland to launch Great Library Design Studio. Inspired by the festival’s immersive “Great Library of Tomorrow” exhibition, the firm’s goal is to translate the Tomorrowland universe into real-world luxury environments.

Tomorrowland is revered for its grand stage designs and intricate storylines, which lean heavily into fantasy. This vision is now being reimagined into spaces ranging from high-end hotels to exclusive entertainment venues, with Vander Velpen describing the venture as an effort to merge Tomorrowland’s identity with an architectural language inspired by Art Nouveau and the natural world.

“Finding inspiration in nature, in plants, in trees, in certain details of animals or living creatures,” the architect said. “It’s a subtle reference. And that’s the beauty, I think, when it all comes together in a subtle, understated, but very visually beautiful way.”

Great Library Design Studio marks a significant evolution for Tomorrowland, reinforcing its influence not just in music and entertainment, but also in interior design and architecture. By transforming its ephemeral festival magic into lasting, tangible spaces, the brand continues to expand its global impact and reputation for developing immersive environments that embody the same sense of wonder and escapism that has defined Tomorrowland for over 25 years.

“We’re excited to show what we’ve been working on for the past few years with a really dedicated team,” Vander Velpen added.

With the help of specialized craftsmen, factories and workshops, these initiatives bring the festival’s visual storytelling into everyday spaces. One of the studio’s first major projects is Morpho, which will introduce a nature-inspired collection of furniture, lighting and décor that embodies the studio’s bespoke design philosophy.

Morpho is expected to launch in April 2025, according to Great Library Design Studio.
